In August 2020

This image is a document of the time: a trace from the explosion of a flash-bang grenade, which was actively used by the police forces in Minsk during the first nights after the elections on 9-12 August. The trace left on the tiles next to the “Minsk Hero City” Obelisk and The New Great Patriotic War Museum warms up the place of memory. Spacious Minsk avenues are used both for official ceremonial parades and as places of protest and uprising: dark nights of violence and days of peaceful manifestation of dissent.

Gleb deforms the fact - he encircles the explosion with chalk, recreating the contour of Belarus' modern borders.
This performative gesture transforms the mark of the explosion into an almost literal statement:
Belarus under Lukashenko is closed in a prison cell, and overwhelmed by cops' violence and tortures.
What kind of "explosive" wave should be enough to take this regime down?
